hi,
am using samsung syncmaster 923nw monitor and i hav 9500gt nvidia geforce graphic card.. my monitor does not support more than 60hz. my monitor flickers heavily.. please HELP me… :(

For some reason, when I navigate to the said window and went to the drop-down box, 60 HZ is the only option, even when I set my monitor on the lowest res possible. I don’t know why.

Many thanks, I increased my screen resolution because I couldn’t see the bottom of a windown and when I changed it back again the screen was flickering badly when before it didn’t.

Your tip has helped me increase the refresh rate and now it is stable!

I’ve been able to get the Clear Type Tuning to work before, however my PC stopped working this morning. Once it was back up and running, everything is blurry again. i.e., the CTT feature no longer works. I tried to re-run it but it will not take effect. What else can I try?

If you have not already bought then you should really ask or read up and try and get a monitor that runs 50Hz to 85Hz or perhaps 60Hz to 75Hz.

Don’t just go for the cheapest one your vendor has on the counter.

Have just installed an iiyama 24 inch which cost me £150 in UK.
It supports 60Hz to 75Hz which is enough for most uses.

At 60Hz the iiyama has no flicker and is perfectly behaved.
When gaming I might turn it up to 75Hz as the game demands a bit more.

I have a 22 inch wide screen flat panel, at higher resolution the refresh rate is always 60, can I do anything, even at lower resolutions the refresh rate is still 60

Lowering your desktop resolution will enable you to increase your refresh rate.

just got a new dell 22″, can’t go above 60hz or check the hide modes etc box. anyway to get around this?

Bravo for the detailed explanations! However, unfortunately, I am not allowed to check the box for “Hide modes that this monitor cannot display”. Could you please offer some advice on how to overcome this?
