Paper Napkin Rejection Emails

April 28th, 2005 | Filed under Tools.
ADVERTISEMENTS

Paper Napkin is an email service to help you avoid people who seek your email address to date you. If someone random asks you for your email address so they can contact you for a date, give them an email address like anyname@papernapkin.net (write it on a cocktail napkin for maximum effect). You can put anything before the @ sign in the address, so it is better to use a real-sounding name so that they’ll believe it.

When they write you, they’ll automatically get a rejection response telling them how badly they’ve been rejected. If they sound desperate enough, it may even get posted and ridiculed. Yes, it’s cruel, so use it wisely. If they actually send a message and it’s funny and/or desperate enough, it might get posted on the best-of page for all to laugh at.

Why not give a wrong email address which will not work anyway?
Their mail will simply come back not delivered. That way the person will not know that you are not interested and you reject their advances. Paper Napkin helps to tell the person privately in his email, without telling to them in person which may seem inappropriate.
