Yahoo AntiSpy Toolbar for Firefox

April 7th, 2005 | Filed under Yahoo!.

Yahoo has finally launched its anti spy toolbar for Firefox. You would recall the earlier versions of Yahoo toolbar required Internet Explorer. The growing popularity of firefox has forced them not only to initially create a toolbar for firefox, but also add it very useful AntiSpy technology to it.

I have used the Yahoo Antispy toolbar in Internet explorer before. Even after cleaning up my PC with Adware and Spybot Search & Destroy, the Yahoo Antispy found a few more spyware and malware. It was easy to update and quickly and efficiently performed the scan.

The new version 0.3b now also supports Windows, Linux and Mac systems. Remember it is in ‘Beta’ phase - means that this version is still going through testing.

Another good feature in the age of blogging - If you have the My Yahoo! button on Yahoo! Toolbar, the toolbar will detect when web sites declare their RSS and Atom feeds that can be added to My Yahoo!.

Download size is 0.08 Mb
Requires Firefox 1.0+
