Blogwise Blog Map Tool: Geoblogging with Google Maps
May 10th, 2005 | Filed under Blogging, Google, Tools.Blogwise blog directory has launched the Beta Blog Map Tool. This tool is an experiment with Location metadata and Google maps. When you’ve moved the map to where you’d like to see some blogs, hit the Refresh button and a list of local blogs appears. The blogs need to be in the BlogWise directory and have geo meta tags. Only works for the USA and the UK at the moment. They have a forum for feedback, support and praises.
This helps to identify blogs based on location using google maps. The Geotags page describes the scheme for embedding geographic information in HTML pages. Geo Tag Generator script generates compliant geo HTML tags.
Just as Google maps has become very popular, Blogwise has started a new era of geo blogging, not to mention getting more listed blogs now. Many such blog directories will soon follow to start to develop new innovative ideas to get more blogs listed in their directories and generate traffic.
