I'm new to blogging and have signed up with Pingoat and in the form I left the XML space blank? Should I have added by blog address in that line? I've been telling some friends on how to sign up and I want to make sure I tell them correctly. Thanks, ns

Hi,

This is Vladimir from Pingoat.com.

Here are the real facts about pinging your blog:

- a ping helps you for updating your information on different websites

- a ping won’t deliver traffic to your blog, a ping will generate indirect traffic to your blog by sending requests to webpages that are using RSS feeds for content.

- a blog is just a blog, it’s not spamming, you won’t get banned unless, you are really spamming (check http://www.spologspot.com – it’s an extension of pingoat)

Hope this solves the problem a little bit.

Regards,
Vladimir

Not realy on the same subject, but I had an idea about making categories pages of my posts. Is there a way other then making a change in a custom category page every time you post? I have thought of putting special tags in my posts (non visible) and hiding the posts by category I don't want to see but when I run through >blogger
