ADVERTISEMENTS

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is an extraordinary single-day experience that unites more than 170,000 Canadians in over 40 communities across the country.

They are raising millions of dollars to fund innovative and relevant breast cancer research, education, and awareness programs in the communities where you live.

The Run is a non-competitive, family event for people of all ages and abilities. Each Run location hosts a 1k and 5k walk or run. More than 20,000 breast cancer survivors proudly wearing pink t-shirts walk or run in support of the cause.

Now in its 14th year, the Run was created in 1992 by a small group of volunteers who wanted to raise awareness and funds for the cause. The first event took place in Toronto. Over 1,500 participants raised $85,000

The early registration fee is $35 and after September 16, 2005, the registration fee is $40. If you donate or collect $150 or more, the Foundation will waive your registration fee. This year, the Run takes place on Sunday, October 2, 2005.
