Starbucks Coffee : Fishy Logo Story

The Starbucks Logo which you see labeled across coffee mugs and drinks has a story to tell.

Deadprogrammer’s Cafe has post to show how the Starbucks coffee logo evolved over time. It earlier represented a two-tailed mermaid (Siren) called a Melusine . Then the image was cropped, coloured, edited to get the present logo.

He concludes -

“Lately I have stopped seeing pictures of the Siren on Starbucks mugs - they seem to favor just the word “Starbucks”. I also started seeing the new type of the siren as part of store decoration and on coffee packaging. She only has one tail. I guess the family-unfriendly image of a fish-woman spreading her tails is on its way out.”

Now time to enjoy my coffee - fishy!
