CNET has compiled a list of 10 software applications that best represent the top trends in downloading over the past decade. This is part of CNET’s 10th year celebrations.

CNET in 1996 was home to 3,000 small shareware and freeware applications and now offers a huge database of software downloads via its popular download service at download.com – I have been getting all my downloads from that site for years.
