McAfee AVERT Stinger is a simple self-extracting, self-installing limited antivirus tool.

Stinger utilizes next generation scan engine technology, including process scanning, digitally signed DAT files, and scan performance optimizations.

It is a small useful antivirus tool to fix limited number of viruses which may have infected a computer. It is best to always download the latest copy of the file as McAfee updates them with the limited latest definitions to counter virus infection. WindowsME/XP users should disable system restore prior to scanning.
