National Watermelon Queen : Promoting Watermelon Industry
July 10th, 2005 | Filed under Miscellaneous.Like Watermelons? The National Watermelon Association crowned their 2005 National Watermelon Queen at their recent national convention in Orlando, Florida.
Twenty-one year old Stephanie Noel Duda of Mission, Texas was awarded the crown, title and obligations following a multi-day competition. As National Watermelon Queen, Stephanie will travel extensively throughout the United States, promoting the watermelon industry. She will give tips on the selection of watermelon in addition to discussing the nutritional and economic value of the product.
The National Watermelon Queen Tour is part of the overall promotional effort of the National Watermelon Association to increase watermelon sales. The National Queen is selected each year during the annual meeting of the Association. The National Watermelon Association has been in existence since 1914, and has their corporate offices in Plant City, Florida. [Found via J-walk]
