Pi Recital Memory Record Broken

Pi is mathematical constant π that represents the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter . It is commonly used in mathematics, physics, and engineering. Math Students will be able to tell the value of pi is 3.141….. till how many numbers can you remember?

BBC News reports that Akira Haraguchi managed to recite the pi number’s first 83,431 decimal places, almost doubling the previous record held by another Japanese, Hiroyuki Goto, who managed to recite 42,195 numbers in 1995.

The conventional value of pi is 3.14159 (has been calculated to 1.24 trillion decimal places with the aid of a supercomputer) is commonly used in scientific equations.

Amazing memory feat. Anything to get into the Guinness Book of World Records!
