Windows Xp even has this integrated firewall and ICS(internet connection sharing)....the author did not state clearly what variant of Windows Xp he ever referred to!!! My suggestion.......GET A THIRD PARTY FIREWALL.........the Windows incumbent firewall may be disabled via... start ..... right click "my computer".... choose manage........expand "services"..........right click Windows Firewall/Internet Connection......"start up type" should be set to "disabled"-----after all it prompts and explains why two firewalls are not recommended!!!
