Wikimedia 21-day Fundraising Drive

The Wikimedia Foundation runs several popular projects like -— Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikinews, Wiktionary, Wikisource, Wikiquote, and the Wikimedia Commons -as a free reliable source of information and knowledge. Wikimedia need donations to continue to grow and to improve content and they need your help.

Indeed, such growing projects need to cover more costs related to more servers, hosting costs, travel & administrative expenses etc. All thier sites are free from advertisements. Visitors are not charged to edit, read or use content and they rely entirely on donations to fund projects.

The third quarter 2005 fund drive is being held from Friday 19 August to Friday 9 September 2005 (2005.08.19 - 2005.09.09). The primary goal is to raise US$200,000 to meet income requirements in the third quarter 2005 budget.

Donations can be made in the currency of your choice and are tax deductible in the United States. Know more at the Fundraising page. They have already collected $110,147.15 so far!
