ADVERTISEMENTS

Google Anita Borg Scholarship 2006 is part of Google’s ongoing commitment to furthering Dr. Anita Borg’s vision and hopes to encourage women to excel in computing and technology and become active role models and leaders.

Dr. Anita Borg (1949 – 2003) devoted her adult life to revolutionizing the way we think about technology and dismantling barriers that keep women and minorities from entering computing and technology fields.

A group of female undergraduate and graduate student finalists will be chosen from the applicant pool. The scholarship recipients, selected from the finalists, will each receive a $10,000 scholarship for the 2006-2007 academic year. All finalists will be invited to visit Google headquarters in Mountain View, California in April 2006 for a networking retreat in which they can meet and share their experiences.”

All applications must be postmarked by Friday, January 20, 2006. Visit the site for more details on eligibility and process.
