Export Bloglines Subscribed Feeds to Google Reader Easily
October 8th, 2005 | Filed under Blogging, Google, Tips.So you want to try out the latest Google RSS aggregator Google Reader to read RSS news. How do you export all your Bloglines subscribed newsfeeds from Bloglines to Google Reader?
Log in to Bloglines, in the left frame on top - click “My Feeds” then scroll to the bottom of the page. Click “Export Subscriptions”. It will pop up a request to save an export.opml file.
In Google Reader, go to Settings, then select Import / Export link. Browse to where you saved your OPML file and upload it. All your subscriptions are now imported into Google reader.
OPML (Outline Processor Markup Language) is an XML format for outlines commonly being used to exchange lists of RSS feeds between RSS aggregators.
Update: I recently switched my default newsreader from Bloglines to Google Reader.

For some reasons it’s not just importing all the blogs from my OPML. I am subsribed to 800+ blogs and it only imports 23 even when I try to import OPML file from Newsgator. Will wait and will try it again tommorrow.
