Camino 1.0 Web Browser : Mozilla Power, Mac Style

February 15th, 2006
ADVERTISEMENTS

The recent launch of Camino 1.0 web browser brings you a heavily-updated version of the only native Mac OS X browser using Mozilla’s Gecko rendering engine. This latest version fixes hundreds of bugs and implements many new features, providing all users with an improved browsing experience.

Camino combines “the awesome visual and behavioral experience that has been central to the Macintosh philosophy with the powerful web-browsing capabilities of the Gecko rendering engine.” It looks and feels like a Mac OS X application should, because it was designed exclusively for Mac OS X and the high standards set by Mac users.

Camino 1.0 is the latest stable release. See the new features list in Camino 1.0. Some notable updates are that Camino is now a universal binary, allowing it to run natively on both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs. A new Tab Bar Appearance, Download Manager Pause/Resume, built-in ad- and pop-up blocking, improved Java performance, Form Fill from Address Book, History Searching and Support for More Web Standards.
