John Scott $10K Challenge: Link Non Technorati Top 100 Blogs
John Scott at Internet marketing Blog is concerned by the fact remains that many in the Technorati Top 100 only link to others in the Technorati Top 100.
So the A-list Bloggers keep on getting bigger, while the smaller blogs stay non recognized. So this is what he proposes.
“So I propose a change in blogging. I challenge every blogger to post links to new blogs, unknown blogs and blogs not in the Technorati’s Top 100. And I’ll pay out a total of $10,000 to those who participate.
All I ask is that you announce on your own blog your intentions to blog about newer, less known blogs, and post your blog URL here in the comments. ( A link would be appreciated but is not required. :) )
In six months time, I will make a list of all the blogs participating – the ones who have followed through and blogged about unknown blogs – and I’ll let the readers here vote and choose a winner.
Grand prize is $3,000. The top 70 runners-up will receive $100 worth of schwag or cash”
A follow up post to comments is addresses other issues. Now that is a good way of providing exposure to lesser known blogs with great content. Maybe some top blogs will start linking here too.

I have to admit since MyBlogLog introduced a number of cool blogs to me via my community I’ve been trying to do this more and more. To be honest I find a lot of the A-list blogs a bit stale now, and some of the younger fresher ones post much more interesting content.
In my view just because they have fewer readers doesn’t mean their content isn’t as good, if not better!
i think it is fair. anyone who is on top 100 can’t link to blog which around 10ks
This was posted some time back – I think it’s an excellent idea! Did it work? Is there a list of Non top-100 blogs published anywhere.. would be great to check it out!
