Alexa Amazon Associate Site Report : Check Broken 404 Links
April 17th, 2006 | Filed under Alexa, Blogging, Tips, Tools.Once your blog grows to a large number of pages, how do you check which links you linked to are broken or 404? Get a expensive professional link checker software or try the Alexa Amazon Associate Site Report for webmasters to find broken links.. for free.
Visit the Alexa Amazon Associate Site Report. Fill in your website address and email, and you are done. If you read the fineprint below - “To prevent unauthorized requests, your e-mail address must match the site to be crawled.” - which means blogspot users cannot run this tools as they do not have a blogspot email. Also free email accounts like gmail, yahoo mail etc will not work. You need an email address using the same domain name.
The report includes broken Amazon links and links to Amazon products no longer available, links on your site that return 404s, traffic stats and upstream traffic, and other details about your site. It takes a few days, sends you the report by email, and does a good job. Why get a professional link checker, when this site report works for you.
Give it a try. I found many broken links, which I would have otherwise not been able to trace. Well functioning and interconnecting links help search engine bots navigate through your site easily and index your website better.

I saw that last week too but already knew about the ‘Validate Links’ option under TOOLS from the WebDev FF toolbar.
