ADVERTISEMENTS

Yahoo! Go for TV lets you view photos, search for video clips and watch movie trailers on your TV.

It lets you access your own pictures from Yahoo! Photos and listen to a full library of music from LAUNCHcast, and view your favorite music videos in stereo. See the complete list of features in Yahoo! Go for TV. Yahoo! Go for TV is a free download and service from Yahoo.

The minimum system requirements are high, a Windows XP operating system, 1 GHz CPU, 512 MB RAM, 40 MB free disk space for installation and 20 GB additional disk space for TV recordings. In addition you need a high-speed Internet connection with a recommended minimum of internet speed of 1.5Mbps to enjoy Yahoo! Go’s rich video and audio features. If your TiVo and PC both have access to a TV signal (via antenna, cable, or satellite), you simply connect the TiVo and PC to different Video In ports on your TV.

Yahoo! Go for TV includes a built-in DVR (Digital Video Recorder) feature, so you can record your favorite programs and play them back later. To use the DVR functionality, you’ll need extra disk space and a TV tuner card.

Yahoo! Go for TV currently is only available inside the U.S, for Windows®-based systems.

I don’t know what type of system you have but those minimum requirements can be easily be met with any computer purchased new for the past several years.

And most people with broadband connections have at least a 1.5MBps connection (mine is 4 MBps).

Besides, who in their right mind would attempt this with a 56K dialup connection anyway. :-)
