Firefox Flicks Ad Video Contest Winners

Mozilla recently announced the winners of its Firefox Flicks video contest at the San Francisco International Film Festival.

Firefox Flicks Ad Contest aims to help increase awareness of Firefox web browser by encouraging film / TV / advertising / multimedia professionals to produce a high-quality, innovative 30-second ad that introduces Firefox to mainstream Web users. The objective is that after watching the ad, the audience should be intrigued enough by Firefox to visit getfirefox.com to learn more and download Firefox.

The Grand Prize winner was “Daredevil” by Pete Macomber. He captures, in documentary-style, the youthful energy and approach to life of a girl whose “other browser is a surfboard.”

The grand prize winner will be short-listed for the NY Festival of Advertising’s 2006 International Advertising Awards in May, and the finalists’ Firefox videos will be incorporated into Mozilla’s 2006 marketing activities.
