I surfed across this simple free web service Skwit that attempts to compile a Listing of Popular Web Posts.

The concept is very simple. No sign ups, no registration, no logins. You just need to insert a 1×1 pixel transparent gif image into your webpage html templates, they will track the site traffic based on how many times the images is loaded by web browsers and compile the popular posts.

It says 43 sites are currently using the service. Give it a try and highlight your popular posts. If Skwit gets popular enough, it might drive more targetted traffic to your popular articles.
