SourceForge Community Choice Awards 2006 Winners



The first annual SourceForge.net Community Choice Awards winners were announced at the Slashdot Lounge at LinuxWorld Expo, Boston on April 5.

SourceForge.net is the world’s largest Open Source software development web site and has a huge repository of Open Source code and applications and hosts a large number of Open Source development products.

Best Overall - Winner : Azureus BitTorrent Client - A powerful, full-featured, cross-platform java BitTorrent client

First Runner-Up : eMule - A filesharing client which is based on the eDonkey2000 network and offers more features than the standard client

Second Runner-Up : 7-Zip - A file archiver with the high compression ratio, it supports multiple format

Winners have also been announced in several other categories like Security, networking, multimedia etc…. Check them out. Some cool open source softwares developed by professional software developers can be found there.
