ADVERTISEMENTS

Sussex Ambulance Service becomes the first NHS ambulance service in the country to offer downloadable first aid and resuscitation advice. Sussex Ambulance Service NHS Trust is one of 32 Ambulance Services in the UK, and responds to 999 emergency health calls.

A press release reports

Advice on a range of the most common conditions that people telephone 999 for – burns, fits, wounds, collapses and CPR for adults and babies – has been pre-recorded in a user-friendly electronic audio format. Each audio file can be downloaded individually onto an iPod or any other MP3 player and each last between two and three minutes.

The audio first aid centre is the brainchild of Sussex Paramedic and Emergency Care Practitioner, Stuart Rutland. There are 7 small MP3 files which can be downloaded on to your iPod or any other MP3 player which provide instructions for first aid in wounds to CPR.
