If your like experimenting, trying and testing new software, Microsoft has released the Windows Media Player 11 Beta for listening to music and watching your videos.

Windows Media Player 11 for Windows XP offers you unmatched choice and flexibility for your digital media. You can easily manage your libraries of digital music, photos, and video on your computer; explore a new world of music through the integrated URGE music service; and connect with mobile devices so you can have your digital media collection wherever you want it.

Windows Media Player 10 is the current version of the popular mp3 player that comes preinstalled with Windows XP on a new computer. So before you start downloading it – Windows Media Player 11 Beta Requires Windows XP.

If you currently use Windows Media Player 10 or earlier to access your favorite online store, you might not be able to access that store when using the beta release of Windows Media Player 11. Only following stores are available in the beta US English version of Windows Media Player 11: Audible, f.y.e., Live365, Movielink, MSN Music, Napster, Passalong, Puretracks, URGE, Wal-Mart, and XM Radio.

And from there I found that Urge is offering a free 14 day trial. URGE is a digital music service from MTV Networks that gives you complete access to over 2 million songs, 18 music genres, countless styles and exclusives from MTV, VH1 and CMT with hundreds of playlists and radio stations, music feeds, blogs, interviews and feature stories from leading music voices. URGE requires Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and Internet Explorer 6 or higher.
