Google Co-op : Sharing Expertise to Improve Google Search

Google Co-op beta which was launched today is a community where users can contribute their knowledge and expertise to improve Google search for everyone. Organizations, businesses, or individuals can label web pages relevant to their areas of expertise or create specialized links to which users can subscribe.

All of that provider’s labels and subscribed links are added to the user’s search results for relevant queries. These contributions serve as meta information that helps Google’s search algorithms connect users to the most relevant information for their specific query.

Visit the Google Co-op Directory to subscribe to the providers that offer features which you can add to your Google search.

Using the Google Subscribed Links API, you can contribute by adding your services directly into Google search. This can help make those services more accessible, giving your users another entry-point to them when they’re making a related search on Google.

That API tutorial teaches you how to make your own simple Subscribed Links feed and let users subscribe to it. Here is mine - Click Here to Subscribe. If you are logged in to your Google Account, you will see a Subscribe button, clicking will add my link to your subscriptions. It will show you my link when you search for “my subscribed links” while signed into your Google Account.
