HolyCowDude : New Blog Search Engine

May 26th, 2006 | Filed under Blogging, Tools.
ADVERTISEMENTS

A new blog search engine will enter the blogosphere on June 5. Its is called HolyCowDude and will be made available from the owners of Pingoat pinging service.

The Goatlog announces the entry soon

“After each ping, you will have the HolyCowDude/0.1 Feeds Searcher on your website crawling for feeds in just 1-2 minutes. If you don’t want him there, and if you are not into getting traffic on your website, you can change your robots.txt file and dissalow the Cow’s access, but if you want to get more people on your blog, keep pinging on each post update.”

The HolyCowDude blog says that “There are two categories of spiders going from our server: a feeds links spider (which gets links to the RSS feeds from your blog/webiste’s pages, and another one which indexes the content of your feeds.”

How do they index your site - simply ping their service from Pingoat or Ipings, which you usually do anyway and they track your feed and index your new blog posts. I am eagerly awaiting the launch.
