By Posted 2006 Updated   Google

Google Notebook has been launched and now you can browse, clip, and organize information from across the web in a single online location that’s accessible from any computer.

Login to the with your Google Accounts username and password, after agreeing to the terms of service, you need to download the Google Notebook browser extension. Restart your browser and you see a Google Notebook icon in the bottom-right corner of your browser window. Click on this icon to open your mini Google Notebook, where you can save all the clips of content you want.

The mini Google Notebook allows you to save clips of information without leaving the webpage, and you can organize and review your notebooks most easily in the full-page view too. Add your own notes and comments, and make your notebooks public.

Works on Internet Explorer 6 (download: Windows), and Firefox 1.5+ (download: Windows Linux). Not compatible with Safari and Opera as yet. You can access your Google notebooks from any computer at any time by logging in to your Google Notebook account.

You can also quickly clip Google search results from Google.com by clicking on the Note this link at the bottom of any search result. I know I am going to collect my notes “to blog about” with this wonderful tool. Get your Google Notebook today.

I downloaded the Firefox extension today and gave it a trial run. There are a few kinks and bugs in Notebook but on the whole, a very useful tool which is easy to use.
