Share Your OPML : Sharing Outlines, Feeds and Taxonomy



Share Your OPML is a project founded by Dave Winer that gathers a community of subscription lists, in OPML format, and aggregate them in interesting ways.

You need to create an account and add an OPML file containing the content feeds that you read. Most feed readers and Rss aggregators store the feeds that you read in the OPML file format and can be exported. The feeds that are included in your OPML file are aggregated with feeds other people have uploaded to create a top 100 list. You can also find similar feeds and who links to your feeds.

To give an example to export your bloglines OPML file - Login to Bloglines, in the left panel under “My Feed” click the “Edit” link. At the bottom of the screen you will see a “Export Subscriptions” link. When you click it, a new window opens with your exported OPML file which you can download and save. This can be then uploaded to Share Your OPML (SYO).
