Firefox 2.0 Beta (Bon Echo) Community Test Day
June 23rd, 2006 | Filed under Events, Firefox.Mozilla Firefox 2.0 beta is due early next month, and Mozilla is organizing a Firefox 2.0 Beta 1 Community Test Day on Friday, June 23 from 7 AM PDT - 5 PM PDT to test out some of the upgrade issues users might face when jumping from earlier versions of Firefox to Firefox 2.0.

Interested members of the Mozilla community will be invited to test the upgrade process from Firefox 1.5 to a pre-Firefox 2.0 nightly build. Testers will be encouraged to try upgrading with a variety extensions installed, some of which are compatible with the latest 2.0 nightlies and some of which are not.
The test day will run from 7:00am until 5:00pm PDT (2:00pm and 12:00am UTC) on Friday and will be primarily coordinated through communication on a special channel on the Mozilla IRC server. For the first time, participants will also be able to join in using AOL Instant Messenger.
The plan for this Friday is to look at the Extension/Theme Manager (now called Add ons in the Bon Echo UI). And they plan to reward people who actively partcipate in this test day to encourage new testers for focused testing. The active testers who provide good feedback, as determined by the QA team will win a Firefox Messenger Bag, Firefox Tshirts and Assorted Firefox items not sold in the Mozilla Store.
