Mozilla Firefox Joga Companion for FIFA World Cup Fans

Mozilla today announced the release of the Joga.com Companion, a free browser add-on for Mozilla Firefox 1.5 developed by Mozilla and made available by Google that adds new features to Firefox so you can show your team colors and stay up to date with the latest FIFA World Cup 2006 action.

Stay up to date with the latest scores, see videos of the best goals, and talk about the 2006 World Cup with fellow fans. Show support for your favorite team by changing the browser’s look and feel. You get Visual themes for all 32 countries participating, a Joga.com sidebar with football news, scores, videos and community links and Match updates in the status bar, including goals, time remaining, and summaries.

Joga is an online community created by Google and Nike (under the banner of Joga Bonito – “Play Beautiful” in Portuguese) that lets you meet other soccer players, share your own soccer experiences and enjoy photos and videos from around the world. To get the full experience, you’ll need a free Joga.com account. If you don’t have a Joga.com account you’ll still be able to access themes and match updates.

Minimum system requirements are Firefox 1.5 and to watch videos you need Macromedia Flash Player 7.0+, Microsoft Windows 2000 or higher with latest updates installed, or Mac OS X 10.3 or higher and a high-speed Internet connection for continuous playback on Google Video.
