New Movable Type 3.3 Blog Publishing Platform Free Beta
June 7th, 2006Movable Type is the premier weblog publishing platform with powerful customization and an elegant interface. The latest version of Movable Type 3.3 Beta is now available as a completely free beta for you to try out.
It is a long wait since Movable Type 3.2 came out in August of last year. If you’re a plugin developer, manage a number of blogs, work as a professional blog consultant, or are responsible for a business deployment of blogs, get the beta now.
The defined schedule for the beta test is kind of an experiment, so that you can update any time you want with regular new builds available for you to try out. But we’ll also define checkpoints where you can know exactly what’s been fixed and how close we are to a final release.
What’s new in Movable Type 3.3? A long list of release notes will get you interested. If that is too much technical jargon for you, you can see the goals and highlights of the release. Like any software, Movable Type 3.3 (beta-1) is being launched with a few known issues.
Normally Movable Type is a paid web publishing software. Though you can get a unsupported free Movable Type Personal Edition for unlimited weblogs and a single user.
