What is Gada.be? An Open Metasearch Service
June 1st, 2006Have you visted Gada.be? An unusual name but an amazing resource of information collected from various sources.
Gada.be is a free “metasearch” service that lets you browse hundreds of different search engines and retrieve results from all of them through a single search. Chris Pirillo has outlined Gada.be cases for eight types of users: Enthusiast, Mobile, Developer, Business, Casual, Researcher, Jobseeker, and Shopper. I quote a little something from Gada.be for the Internet Enthusiast
A multitude of new searches come online every day, either general or specialized. There’s no way to keep track of every single useful search engine out there. Gada.be continually adds new search engines to its mix – currently standing at 250+ separate data providers, each one providing an individual RSS feed for your query against their database.
It’s challenging not to look beyond Technorati, Google, Flickr, and del.icio.us. There is a vast world of information past this quadumvirate – but not easily accessible in one place. Gada.be allows you to look past the resources you already know, easily finding new information you had previously no idea existed.
If you read the About Page, you will get more information about Gada.be. I have seen it being used as tags (similar to Technorati) on Lockergnome for sometime now and information provided is fresh and worth a look!
