Developing Nations Creative Commons License

July 8th, 2006 | Filed under Tips, Tools.
ADVERTISEMENTS

I know many people who do not use the Creative Commons licences “some rights reserved” option on their work for fear that it might be misused by someone living in a developed country like USA. But why not release it under a CC licence for developing nations where it will be useful.

Get the Developing Nations Creative Commons License which allows you to invite a wide range of royalty-free uses of your work in developing nations while retaining your full copyright in the developed world.

“The Developing Nations license allows, for the first time, any copyright holder in the world to participate first-hand in reforming global information policy. The fact is that most of the world’s population is simply priced out of developed nations’ publishing output.”

See the Developing Nations 2.0 CC licence and put the code on your site should it fit your purpose.
