Wordpress.com Celebrates One Successful Year

Wordpress.com is a wonderful free blogging platform that has most of the goodies of the downloadable Wordpress, without the need for your own webhosting or upgrades. Recently Wordpress.com celebrated its first birthday.

Wordpress.com is an amazing effort by Matt Mullenweg, Ryan Boren, and Donncha O�Caoimh etc. who have brought this wonderful free blogging tool for bloggers. Just as the Wordpress guys forgot its birthday, Lorelle remembered to wish them first.

I have been following Wordpress.com development from its early days. Do you remember the days you needed a golden ticket invite for Wordpress.com blog hosting. Some important landmarks were WordPress Widgets by Automattic, single login on unlimited Wordpress.com blogs, ability to import / export your blog, and the recent premium features by buying Wordpress credits. Have you ever pondered about the reasons you need a WordPress.com Account without a blog.

I wish Wordpress.com a happy birthday (belated) and thank the Wordpress community for making blogging so easy, yet effective. We all love Wordpress, and it shows…
