I think there is nothing new in it.
Google’s Image ads do display ads by google in the bottom of the image frame, but Flash ads never display it. Some time Flash ads comprises only with a single image that looks like an image ad.

i think i know the reason why the ads did not show up on my site. It happened again and i think it did so when the code is not properly formed by the publisher or from Google. Now my page is normal

(Yes, I ve heard of premium accounts. They can even choose the ads.)

how these
