Heart Kids Blogathon : Sponsor Cardiac Surgery for Poor Children

The Heart Kids Blogathon is an annual 24-hour blogging marathon being held on September 9 to raise awareness about Congenital Heart Disease and to generate funding to sponsor life-saving heart surgery for poor children.

Dr. Mani Sivasubramanian, the man behind the Heart Kids Blogathon, is a pediatric heart surgeon and Internet entrepreneur, who has raised over $50,000 in last 4 years and the funds donated have been used to sponsor 13 heart operations till date. Dr. Mani Sivasubramanian plans to raise $75,000 in a day this year to fund lifesaving heart surgery for 25 children via this Heart Kids Blogathon.

The blogathon blog is live and it seems they have already generated charity funds of $3,843. You can donate and support the Heart Kids Blogathon by raise awareness about congenital heart disease and help collect donations to sponsor heart surgery for poor children.

This is different from the regular yearly blogathon event, which was held on July 29 this year. Found via Blogging Times
