About your plugins: Ever tried the nightly tester tool? It solved that problem for me, now everything works fine, as it did before. I even used alpha quality firefoxes with it :-)

Well, there's something you could try with those extensions that you're using. I read an article not long ago on LiewCF which might be what you're looking for titled "Make old extensions work on Firefox 2" :

Hello,

You mention in your post the saddening loss of your extensions' compatibility. You might be interested in trying an extension called "Nightly Tester Tools" which you can find here http://users.blueprintit.co.uk/~dave/web/firefox/buildid/index.html
Said xpi can force your installed extensions to work with whatever version of Firefox you're using (there is another version of that xpi on the moz add-on site called 'Nightly Tester Tools Lite' but I'm not sure it works as well as this one does).
Install it, restart firefox and your extensions list (Menu-tools-extensions) should now bear a button next to "find updates" which says "make all extensions compatible". Click and praise... :)

hope this is useful...
