As per the Microsoft Support Lifecycle Service Pack support policy, the Windows XP SP1 (SP1a) support ended on October 10. If your computer is still running Windows XP SP1 / SP1a, then it is time to upgrade to Windows XP SP2 now. You can download the Windows XP Service Pack 2 for free.
