Track Web Host Uptime by Hourly Traffic Statistics

Do you wonder why your site traffic is less today? Why does your Google Adsense statistics reveal less ad impressions and lower Adsense earnings? Maybe your site was down and your webhosting server was unavailable while you were sleeping.

I check my hourly site statistics to see when my site went offline. We all run popular free site statistics tracking tools like Sitemeter, statcounter etc. These tools have an option to track the hourly visits and you can easily see when your site was down or offline. Why use professional site uptime tools and software when you can track your hourly statistics.

Let me explain with some examples.
Check these Sitemeter hourly traffic charts. It clearly shows that our site went offline at 3AM and the web host server was restored to normal activity by around 7AM
server down

This chart shows when my web hosting provider reported a power outage. The site traffic went to zero and promptly surged back in the next hour.

Any guesses what happened here. The site was getting Digged and my shared web hosting server crashed. And the site was down for over a few hours.
