2006 Weblog Award Winners : Best Blog is Daily Kos
December 19th, 2006 | Filed under Blogging, Events.The 2006 Weblog Awards promised to be the biggest ever this year with 45 categories to choose from. The nominations ended November 24, the voting began December 7 and ended on December 15. Now the 2006 Weblog Award winners have been announced. They got a total of 526,974 votes!
The race for the best blog reveals that the winner Daily Kos with 35.48 % (19555) votes won with a small margin over the runner up Little Green Footballs with 33.76 % (18606) votes and others were far behind.
The Best Technology Blog was Engadget with 40.09 % (9230) votes and runner up was far behind with Gizmodo at 29.04 % (6686) votes. It was surprising to see Slashdot at only 9.23 % (2125) votes and Tech Crunch at 1.21 % (278) votes.
Fark won the award for the Best Online Community with a clear margin with 54.29 % (27816) votes.
