Graphical Google Logo on Adsense Ads

Usually when you see a Google Adsense advertisement on websites, it is usually branded by an adjacent link titled “Ads by Google” or more enthusiastically as “Ads by Goooooogle” or maybe no indication of Google at all. Now a new Adsense testing seems to be going on with Google displaying its logo on the ads.

The Internet and Me reported seeing Google Adsense text ad units with the familiar Google logo instead of the text link which looks like “Ads by Google Logo”. The Hiveminds magazine also spotted these ads in black and colored logos and are irritated that the background for the image does not match the chosen color in the ad setup. One Dollar a Day reports spotting “Ads by G” where the G was an image.

Evidence of Adsense testing is visible several times. Sometimes you can spot ads without title text links, Image ads without Ads by Google, combined Ad links and text ad together in one ad, or linked with favicons.
