PayPerPost Paid Bloggers to Disclose Sponsored Status
December 19th, 2006 | Filed under Blogging, Tools.PayPerPost had introduced a new concept of Paid Blogging. PayPerPost advertisers are willing to pay bloggers for their opinion on various topics, you make a blog posting, get your content approved, and get paid.
It created a lot of buzz in the blogosphere, because people were unable to judge whether the opinion of the blogger was motivated by monetary gains and few bloggers were willing to declare that it was a paid post. Now PayPerPost bloggers must disclose to their readers that they receive compensation from PayPerPost advertisers.
PayPerPost now follows the DisclosurePolicy.org launch with transparency mandate and now requires disclosure by marketplace participants.
“PayPerPost’s new Terms of Service require participating content creators to fully disclose site wide with a prominent Disclosure Policy or on a per post basis. To cover the increased blogger and marketplace costs of the company’s new policy, PayPerPost is raising the minimum price per post by one dollar to five dollars per post. The company’s marketplace remains the lowest cost, highest value provider of online WOM or buzz marketing.”
Read the new terms of service and some tips for disclosure. This is a fair step and will make readers easily determine if the content was written for financial gain and help them decide and analyze the content in that respect. Generate your disclosure policy now.
