Search Engines Sending Gifts to Advertisers

December 26th, 2006 | Filed under Advertising, Google, Microsoft, Tips, Yahoo!.

Shimon Sandler is reporting that search Engines are sending gifts to advertisers. Google sent a branded Ipod Shuffle, Yahoo sent a fancy corkscrew kit from Leeds and MSN sent a bottle of wine from wine.com. Chuck says in comments that Ask.com sent him a pair of Tiffany’s mugs.

Google has gifted digital photo frames to top Adsense publishers this year. Last year it was a case with USB goodies. Google Display Advertising Network users were gifted Google branded laptop bags.

Previously Google also rewarded Lava Lamps to MTV Video Ads Testers and Mini Fridges to top Google Adwords users.

Google has been well known to send gifts, it was surprising to learn that Yahoo, MSN and Ask also do the same. Have you received any gifts from search engines?

I advertise via Adsense, and I know people who got those gifts…you gotta win THOUSANDS of dollars a year if you want one, and it seems each year the limit to get something is even higher.

Anyway, with the money these people are getting via google, those gifts aren’t really that much :)
