Search Over 7 Million Patents with Google

The newly launched Google Patent Search lets you search the full text of the U.S. patent corpus and find patents that interest you.

All patents are derived from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Patents issued in the United States are public domain government information, and images of the entire database of U.S. patents are readily available online via the USPTO website. It searches over 7 million patents issued from 1790s to middle of 2006 and does not include patent applications, international patents, or U.S. patents issued over the last few months.

Google Patent Search is currently available in English only and includes only U.S. patents. You can try these Advanced Search Tips and add “operators” that fine-tune your search terms to increase the accuracy and effectiveness of your searches on Google Patent Search.

Another addition to the Big Google Search Tools Collection.
