Yahoo! Answers Invites Former Google Answers Researchers
December 1st, 2006As the news about Google Answers shut down spreads, the Yahoo Answers team is taking full advantage of the knowledge bank by inviting Former Google Answers Researchers also called GAR (experts sharing knowledge in various topics) to join the Yahoo! Answers
“So, this is an open invitation for those researchers to join us. Please consider sharing your knowledge with millions of people on Yahoo! Answers; connect with users with shared interests; get answers to all your questions; and help build the world’s most vibrant and trusted community.
The folks who are researchers and information specialists have been at this longer than us, and there’s a lot we can learn from you. We’ve set up a Yahoo! Group for former Google Answers Researchers and we’d prefer that one of the exGARs help moderate the group.”
What is exGARs? that is an interesting term for ex-Google Answers Researchers! The Yahoo Group is available at exGAR – Answers Researchers in Exile for (former) Google Answers Researchers to discuss what worked and what didn’t, and what answers researchers would want out of Yahoo! Answers.
The big difference is Google Answers paid experts for their answers and time, while Yahoo Answers is free. These experts and researchers may decide to join other ask-an-expert services.
