Get Your MyBlogLog Branded Community

January 12th, 2007
ADVERTISEMENTS

I recently pointed you to MyBlogLog communities which have become so popular that every blogger has a MyBlogLog widget running on their blog and now Yahoo decided to buy them.

I was recently introduced to the concept of a Branded Community on Mybloglog. If you would like to get your own branded community with MyBlogLog, you need to email them. There are no further details about this feature. But some branded communities are already live.

If you visited our Quick Online Tips Community (just like yours) and visited a branded community like Techcrunch Community, the difference is obvious.

Their usual mybloglog url
http://www.mybloglog.com/buzz/community/Techcrunch/
redirects to the techcrunch subdomain
http://community.techcrunch.com/

Being a branded community lets them customize their community site with their logo, navigational links, advertising and other branding features. See my usual profile, and now my profile as Techcrunch member. The blending is done so well, that mybloglog community seems an integral part of Techcrunch. Not that Techcrunch needs any introduction, but I am sure this cobranded community will help them get more members, readers, and advertisers.

It seems the Branded Community feature is under testing with some top blogs and is being offered on a limited basis. You need to email them if you are interested. Probably they will open up this feature to all in future. Have you noticed any other branded community? Let us know in comments.

Co-branding is getting popular with web services. To see some examples, visit our Quick Online Tips Store (powered by Amazon) or search our site (powered by Google Adsense for Search). Both have url’s hosted on our server, and the code is easily embedded!
