Google Tops List of 100 Best Companies to Work For
January 8th, 2007Google has topped the Fortune 10th annual “100 Best Companies to Work For” list in 2007. If you need a job, Google can be the best employer you can find.
A Forbes press release highlights some reasons –
“At Google you can enjoy free gourmet meals; do your laundry; drop off your dry cleaning; get an oil change and get a massage all onsite. Work is such a cozy place that it’s sometimes difficult for Google employees to leave the office, which is precisely how the company justifies the expenses, none of which it breaks out of its administrative costs. Engineers can spend 20% of time on independent projects–no wonder Google gets 1,300 resumes a day.”

Update: A quick look at the 2006 list reveals that Genetech (currently second) was the best companies to work for in 2006 and Google was not even in the top 100!

I have actually been working on a website http://www.leadingwithkindness.com and documentary that highlights great places to work at and Google is one of them and rightfully so. We spent one day shooting at the offices in New York and they were amazing they had the best cafeteria I have ever seen and a room dedicated to relaxing. I can see why google gets so many job applicants each year.
