Works perfectly again. It is a bit fiddly but not impossible even with three thumbs on each hand. And you wouldn't believe the crud that was in there. It had stopped scrolling before, but nothing a little upside-down scrolling couldn't fix. Nothing I tried would fix it this time. Turns out I only needed to scroll my mouse upside down for a LONG time, about 5 minutes. Works like new now :) Be patient! I thought my mouse was dead for good.
