They gave me the creeps :-)  I should have followed the steps outlined and obviously, I had not. This was my secong wordpress upgrade and actually first major upgrade. I'm sure things will get patched up soon enough but just because a plugin is on the compatibility list does not mean it is going to work for everyone.
