Wordpress 2.2, 2.1.1 and 2.0.8 Under Development
Wordpress 2.1 was finally released. While plugin authors are busy updating to make their plugins compatible with Wordpress, many wordpress blogs are waiting with their Wordpress 2.0.7 versions.
Boren.nu points out that new Wordpress versions are in the works…
“We have begun 2.2 development. We’ve already committed some nice new things including Atom API support, WP-specific XML-RPC API for managing pages and categories, and TinyMCE 2.0.9. We’re also fixing bugs in 2.1 and 2.0.7. Once we shake out enough bugs, we will package 2.1.1 and 2.0.8 releases. You can check the roadmap to see what bugs are being fixed for each release.”
Here is the Wordpress roadmap on the Wordpress Trac. You can see the active tickets to see what bugs are awaiting to be fixed. It seems Wordpress 2.2 will be out after 3 months. Wordpress 2.1.1 and Wordpress 2.0.8 may be out sooner, once the bugs are fixed.
